We teach Baltimore City residents safe, effective, and sustainable horticultural practices that help build healthy gardens, landscapes, and communities, in support of the University of Maryland Extension (UME) mission. Our work is carried out by trained volunteers through an executive board and committees, in cooperation with community partners.
> Join us for scheduled presentations at community locations across Baltimore to learn sustainable lawn care and gardening practices tailored to your neighborhood.
> Visit our Ask a Master Gardener plant clinics at farmer’s markets, where our trained volunteers help diagnose plant problems, offer expert gardening advice, answer your questions, and provide useful printed materials on a wide range of gardening topics.
> Plan and grow your own vegetable garden with the help of our Grow It, Eat It initiative, and bring fresh, homegrown food to your table.
Executive Board
The Executive Board meets monthly on the third Wednesday of the month (calendar details here), and are open to Baltimore City Master Gardeners and Interns to learn more about our activities. Time spent in the meeting counts as volunteer hours for BCMGs.
